FIRST 200 PEOPLE ATTENDING GET A FREE STIGMA STOMP T-SHIRT
We are pleased to invite you to our 2nd Annual charity awareness event Stigma Stomp Day hosted by the Bipolar Disorder Society of BC, Bipolar Babe Project.
The event consists of hosting Victoria’s community in Centennial Square, downtown Victoria on Friday June 14, 2013 from 12-3pm.
The event celebrates a day free of stigma. Stigma consists of false stereotypes that perpetuate unwarranted fears and discrimination amongst society. Labels such as homeless, addicted, mentally ill, among many others. The day will host inspirational speakers such as Jamie, a 17 year old girl that lives with bipolar disorder. We will also be hosting 20 community partner information booths. An important component of the day is providing the community with 200 Stigma Stomp t-shirts, which symbolizes unity and acceptance of all people despite the effect that stigma has on all. We are all equal and we are all amazing!
Truck food vendors will be on-site and we are anticipating great media attention at the event. We have a secret celebrity MC and will have KOOL FM on site with water bottles.
T-shirt sponsors so far include: Wynona Wensley from Be Free Health www.feelfreebefree.com, Certified Rolfer & Source Point Therapy. Kirby's Source for Sports and Saunders Subaru have also jumped on board for sponsorship!
Rolfing Structural Intergration available for $2 a minute with all proceeds going to the Bipolar Disorder Society of BC. 🙂
Face painting provided by Amy Louise for $5 a face – a portion of the proceeds go to the Bipolar Disorder Society of BC.
The day is going to be amazing and we want you to be part of it! Visit our Facebook Page to let us know you are coming!
